Dino on my mind

I've been a little obsessed with the Ferrari Dino 308 GT4 the past few days. They're especially lovely in non-red.  I cannot understand why these gorgeous cars aren't more sought after.  It's the only production Ferrari designed by Bertone (Marcello Gandini to be exact), and the first production V8 in a long line of V8s. Putting aside the tiresome snobbery surrounding the whole Dino badge, these are objectively very special little cars, and possibly some of the greatest 2+2 GT cars of the 1970s.

I think the problem is that its looks don't say "Ferrari". If you didn't know better, it could be a Maserati or a Lancia or even an Italian-bodied British make. However much they differ from model to model and year to year, good looking or ugly (as the case has so often been in recent years), Ferraris always look like Ferraris. Astons always look like Astons. Taken on its own merits it's an interesting looking car, but it gives the impression, in person at least, of being cheap and probably uncomfortable. You're correct in saying it looks better in colors other than red - how un-Ferrari is that? You've wisely chosen a very flattering photo of that blue one; it looks very handsome indeed..

in the second picture, i see a few hints of the stratos, ofcourse the gandini touch, like a stratos minus the muscles in a tailor made suit, and you're right about how this car is so under rated.. very very beautiful.

After studying these photos of the Dino, I realize that to get the best out of it one must stay at a second floor window looking down.
