Automobiliac Video of the week: Earth Pounding thrills in the McLaren M6B

Driver Gary Sheehan has posted some awesome driving videos on Youtube. The best are those of him driving the ex Jo Bonnier 1968 McLaren M6B Can Am car.  Here are two favorites:

In the first video, he laps Laguna Seca in anger with 600hp at his command. In the second he is at Sears Point (Infineon Raceway). The second video is shakier, but it's great because you can watch the throttle linkage rise and fall in the center of the frame, showing you exactly what his right foot is doing!

Great stuff.
I would like to know (and I think it would be of interest to others as well): What is the length of the course at Leguna Seca?
What is the course record, by what car? At what average speed?
What is a respectable time for the course short of the record for a vintage car? What car? What MPH?
This information might be worth including with on-board footage whenever you can obtain it.
Just a suggestion.

I assume that was "The Corkscrew" at about 1:20-1:23 of the video. Correct? I've seen only still photos of it until now.

Thanks for the suggestions, Walter. You are correct about the corkscrew at 1:20. As for your other questions, I'll have to look that up and post an update.

To briefly answer your question, the lap record at Infineon is around 1:21, and this was set with an Audi R8 Prototype. So if Sheehan is lapping at 1:37 in a 40 year old car, I'd say that is pretty darn quick.
